As an agency, we have never actively or consciously done work with the intention of winning awards but rather, true to our mantra, our goal has always been to help brands play a meaningful role in people’s lives. Last year we had the pleasure of working on a diverse array of briefs that gave us opportunities to research, strategize and produce output that was way outside our norm, and this led to Dicomm winning not one but three Multichoice Ngoma Creative awards which are as follows;
1) Winner of the Herald’s Award for Television/Cinema (Best TVC) – Zimplats Beyond this Skin television commercial.
2) Winner of Daily News Award for Social Media (best social media campaign) – Shield Fresh Movement on behalf of Unilever.
3) Winner of the Empire Services Award for Community Service – Zimplats Beyond this Skin campaign.
4) Davies Events Award for Websites – Zimplats website.
Interestingly, both agency and clients put their all into these campaigns and the reach and impact they had was already reward enough.
‘Our collective aim was and remains; to grow the brand and as proven, passion precedes recognition and awards’, commented one our clients, Tinashe Nyoni, Unilever Category Manager, Skin Cleansing Southern Africa. I couldn’t put it better.
Guest judge Cameron Kriger of TheNicheGuys commented ‘tears ran down my face as i watched the TVC for Beyond This Skin, the emotional connection i felt was so close to the heart and yet so impactful. well done team Dicomm.’
It’s also encouraging to see that the agency’s shift towards digital advertising has started paying off as evidenced by the recognition of the social media campaign and website developed.
Here’s to continuing helping brands to play a meaningful role in people’s lives.
