Last Thursday night we joined in the festivities as Cassava Smartech Zimbabwe CEO Eddie Chibi, unveiled the much anticipated new easy ride lift service – VAYA Africa. The latest brain-child of Cassava On Demand Services, a division of Cassava Smartech Zimbabwe – the service provides the ultimate solution to anyone looking for safe, affordable, quick and reliable passenger transportation door-to-door providing online, real-time convenience through the Vaya mobile App allowing Vaya users to connect their nearest driver anytime.
Affordability and convenience is the name of the game with each ride being charged from as little at 85c a kilometre and can be booked from anywhere in Harare, anytime, with just a few clicks on the mobile app. Although still only available in Harare Mr Chibi revealed there are plans to roll-out to other citites and towns in Zimbabwe in the not too distant future in addition to other new exciting On-Demand Services.
Based on a “shared value” ideal , the Vaya business model is designed to empower Vaya Partners, equpiing them with the the opportunity to generate reliable income using their own vehicles whilst simultaneously ensuring viability for Cassava On Demand Services. To date, over 500 drivers have been trained, equipped with an inbuilt tracker and remote monitoring system which ensures rider safety as well as manuals on customer service.
Mr Chibi also encourages businesses to take advantage of the competitive pricing to improve business processes and offer employee shuttles at a competitive cost as Vaya offers fares that are up to 20% less than metered taxis and average waiting times of just five minutes!
